A large crowd gathered at the Arnold Janssen Chapel in Marsfield on Friday, December 14 for an evening of Christmas Carols and community sharing.

The annual Carols by Candelight was hosted by members of the Divine Word Missionary community at Marsfield and attended by their friends, supporters and members of the local community who regularly worship at the Arnold Janssen Chapel.

Rector of the Marsfield community, Fr Mike Knight SVD, says the Carols is always a happy family event.

“It’s just our way of sharing the Advent and Christmas spirit of peace and joy with our friends  and their families from around the local area,” Fr Mike says.

“Our music team put a lot of effort into leading the Carols and encouraging everyone to join in and it was a really wonderful evening of joyful preparation for the coming of the Christ child at Christmas.”

After all that hearty singing, the happy gathering was treated to refreshments.
